Valve Introduces Merit-Based Ranking System for CS:GO Major RMR Events, Giving Teams a Clear Path to Glory

Valve has announced that it will be introducing a new ranking and invite system for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) Major Regional Major Ranking (RMR) events, starting with BLAST Paris 2023. This new system aims to provide a clearer path for teams to earn a spot in the prestigious Major events and ensure that the competition is as fair and competitive as possible.

Under the new system, teams will be ranked based on their performance in RMR events and their corresponding region. The top teams in each region will earn a direct invite to the Major, while the remaining spots will be filled through a series of qualifier events.

This new system replaces the previous invitation-based system, which was criticized for being opaque and subjective. By basing invites on objective performance and ranking, Valve hopes to create a more transparent and merit-based system that rewards teams for their hard work and dedication.

The new ranking and invite system is sure to be welcomed by the CS:GO community, as it provides a clear and fair path for teams to earn a spot at the Major events. It will be interesting to see how this new system affects the competitive landscape in the coming years and which teams rise to the top.
