Following the results of the first weekend of the VALORANT Champions Tour European Challengers, Riot's esports team is expanding the qualifiers to include more best-of-three series.

During the first-weekend Challengers qualifier, the tournament used best-of-one matches through the round of 64 and began incorporating the best-of-three into the round of 32. Moving forward, the best-of-three series will begin. back in the round of 128.

This decision comes after "receiving valuable feedback from the community and the competition" after Challengers One. It is a step towards APV's goal of determining "the best of the best in their respective region."

"By implementing the above changes, our goal is to reward consistency and reduce randomness," said Riot. "We want the results to carry more weight, whether in victory or defeat."

In addition to expanding more maps in rounds of 128 and 64, teams that reach the knockout stages but are not one of the four to qualify for the next event will automatically enter the next ranked in round of 128. These changes will take effect as soon as the next open qualifier for the second Challengers weekend. The four teams that qualified from Challengers One have already earned their places in the eight-team entry phase of Challengers Two.
