Garmin introduces e-sports smartwatch that tracks heart rate and stress while gaming

The Garmin esports smartwatch tracks analytics and transmits biometric performance.

Garmin, the American manufacturer of GPS and smart wristbands, has revealed a new e-sports smartwatch: Instinct Esports Edition, a smartwatch designed to help gamers track and live stream their biometric data during gaming sessions.

Garmin already produces Instinct Edition watches, but this Esports Edition is specially designed for gamers. The watch features a dedicated e-sports activity feature in addition to Garmin's health and fitness tracking technology found in the basic Instinct variants. The dedicated e-sports activity feature allows the smartwatch to track and analyze heart rate and stress levels during gaming sessions.

With the introduction of the Smartwatch, Garmin also introduced the new "STR3AMUP!" PC streaming tool. The StreamUp streaming tool is specially designed to work with Instinct Esports Edition. The tool also allows live users to transmit their biometric data to audiences.

The watch can be used in smartphone or esports mode. Like other Gramin watches, in smartphone mode, the watch acts like a regular Garmin Instinct, allowing users to sync their activity with the Garmin Connect app. While in Esports mode, the watch displays heart rate, stress levels, time of day, and a game timer.

In the press release, Dan Bartel, Vice President of Sales at Garmin said:

Elite athletes around the world depend on Garmin products to monitor and improve their performance. With Instinct Esports Edition, esports athletes can take advantage of that same technology to track and examine how their body responds to intense competition. Players can also use Instinct data to make adjustments to their daily lives, be it by altering sleep patterns or activity levels, which can result in increased cognitive and physical performance during gameplay.

Instinct Esports Edition is available now at Garmin stores in select countries and will cost $ 299.99 (USD). It is available in a black and red color combination and features a high-contrast display and a lightweight, rugged design. The watch provides up to 80 hours of battery life in e-sports mode and up to 14 days in smartwatch mode.
