Is this a goodbye forever?

Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer Gustafsson, FaZe Clan's long-term understudy, is on his last trip with the Counter-Strike team.

In a pregame interview today with BLAST ahead of their spring Group C opener against Team Liquid, FaZe captain Marcelo "coldzera" David confirmed that this event will be the team's last with the CS: GO legend. . He also talked about a "new IGL" coming to FaZe soon.

The veteran rifler has been in and out of the starting lineup since joining FaZe at the end of 2017. Near the end of 2020, olofmeister came off the bench again as a "backup" following the departure of star Nikola "NiKo" Kovač. . Olof joined FaZe after a legendary three-year career with Fnatic when he established himself as the best player in the world and at the same time won two Majors.

However, the news of olofmeister's departure shouldn't come as a surprise to fans. Coldzera recently said the team would eventually cease to be olof as the 29-year-old is considering retirement.

Olof's departure is the latest development in a series of changes for FaZe. The organization hired Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken in January after he left Liquid and transferred Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye to the bank after less than half a year. Various rumors and reports suggest that Finn "karrigan" Andersen will rejoin FaZe as their leader in the game after he expires his mousesports contract in the coming months.

If FaZe wins against Liquid, they will face Natus Vincere in the winners final. If not, they will be playing coldzera's former team, MIBR, in the lower bracket.
