Enhanced Brim, Weakened Omen, and Viper on Riot's radar.

VALORANT episode two is right around the corner and the drivers may look a bit different this season.

Omen is, without doubt, the basic smoker in any team competition and the most used agent in the game. During First Strike: North America, for example, the mysterious controller was played in 98 percent of the games, according to Today's VALORANT Patch 2.0 brings some balance changes for Omen and Brimstone that can change the landscape of the competitive meta.

"Omen and Brimstone have been in competition since beta, and typically only one of them is considered viable," the patch notes read. "By giving each of them clearer strengths, we hope to strengthen both agents in different situations."

To help Brim capitalize on the "great site runtime," Riot is improving several of his abilities. His Stim Beacon now has no time equipped, allowing him to keep his weapon raised while he's in the fray. Brim's molly cost is being reduced to 200 credits, from 300, and his smokes will now have a cast range of 5,000, up from 4200. The duration of Sky Smokes is also increased by five seconds, totaling 19.25, and will emit no sound when confirming your location.

With one controller improving, another weakens. Omen's Paranoia will now cost 400 credits, instead of 200. And the projectile speed of his Dark Cover will be much slower, going from 4,000 to 2,800. This should take longer to set up the universal fumes for it.

Although a controller was missing in the patch notes, Riot says Viper is on his radar.

"We believe she is underperforming and is looking for ways to help her in the future," according to the patch notes.

Other changes in today's patch include a new Yoru duelist, a new rank ranking system, and classic pistol nerfs.
