Meet us at the cat cafe if you're up for a fight.

It's time to jump into Overwatch's latest free map, Kanezaka.

Nestled in the shadows of Hanamura and Shimada Castle, the picturesque city offers a picturesque layout for players to face off in Deathmatch mode or in custom matches. Kanezaka has been in test mode on the Public Test Realm (PTR) for almost a month but is now available to play on the Overwatch servers live.

As a free-for-all map, Kanezaka has no specific objectives or payload options like a traditional Overwatch map would. Instead, the map acts as an open world with lots of locations for players to sneak up on enemies and get kills.

Kanezaka is a historic city that is going through a crisis thanks to the presence of the Hashimoto, as revealed yesterday. The city used to be run by the Shimada Clan, the criminal organization Hanzo once ran after the death of his father. Ever since Hanzo and Genji left the clan, the strictest hand of the Hashimoto gang has ruled Kanezaka.

While the city's residents are cracking up under Hashimoto's rule, Kanezaka remains a popular tourist destination. Players can explore Kanezaka's many attractions as they race across the map, including a sleek new shopping mall that stands alongside old buildings. The former grounds of the Shimada clan, such as a game room and a seedy nightclub, are also part of the map.

However, Kanezaka's biggest draw to fans has been the city's cat cafe. There are no cats present and none can be hurt during a tense free-for-all Overwatch, but the little cafe includes photos of the developers' pets on the walls.

Players can now play Kanezaka as a special Deathmatch mode on the Arcade card. The map can also be explored in custom games.
