FPX is getting into CS:GO, for real this time.

FunPlus Phoenix has completed the takeover of the former GODSENT CS:GO line, the organization announced today.

Pavle "maden" Boskovic, Asger "farlig" Jensen, Jesse "zehN" Linjala and Martin "STYKO" Styk make up the core of the list. Jonatan "Devilwalk" Lundberg, a two-time Major winner with Fnatic during his playing career, joins FPX as a coach.

This is the second time FPX has attempted to enter Counter-Strike with a talented European team after attempting to sign the Danish Heroic roster last April. That acquisition fell through when Astralis caught Patrick "es3tag" Hansen to complete his lineup. FPX (a charter member) needed a team to participate in the first season of Flashpoint and signed the NA Bad News Bears team for the remainder of the season. FPX did not compete at all in the second season of Flashpoint.

Under the GODSENT banner, the international list had an improved year in 2020, including in the top 15 of the HLTV world rankings. After the players were transferred to FPX, the Swedish organization signed an all-Brazilian squad highlighted by Epitácio "TACO" de Melo and João "felps" Vasconcellos.

In the FPX announcement, the organization said it still needs to fill in "the last piece of the puzzle," referring to the fifth player on the team.
