Registrations have begun for ESPL Valorant Power Up India.

The Indian valorant scene is set to start with a bang in 2021. The ESPL Valorant PowerUp event with a prize pool of INR 750,000 is scheduled for the India region. The detailed format and schedule for Valorant's first major event of 2021 have been revealed, with a total of four Qualifiers scheduled for the Final Stage of the tournament.

Registration for the first of the four Mega Event Qualifiers had already started as of December 18 and will continue until December 31, 2020, and the Qualifier is scheduled to take place between January 5 and 10, 2021.

Each Qualifier will have 256 registration slots available and will be played in its entirety in a single-elimination format, bracketed up to the Top 16 with best of 1 matches.

The Qualifiers will be in a best-of-3 format from Pre-Quarters onwards, with the final four teams qualifying for the Main Stage of each qualifier, culminating in a 16-team main event.

The 16 qualified teams will be divided into four groups, which will be played in GSL format, with 2 teams coming out of each group. The playoff stage will feature a best of 3 single elimination group, except for the Grand Final, which will see the two rivals fight in a best of 5.

The final winner will take home a purse of INR 400,000, while the finalists will be greeted with a cash prize of INR 200,000. The two losers in the semi-finals will not leave empty-handed either. Each of them will receive a cash prize of INR 50,000.

For people unfamiliar with the GSL format, it is a tournament format where traditionally four teams enter the group schedule and two matches are drawn. From there come two winners and two losers.

The two winners fight each other, and the one victorious between the two secures a spot directly in the next round.

In cases where there are 2 places at stake from each group, the other team from the winners match advances to face the winner of the match between the two first-round losers for a place in the next stage.

The heaviest prize distribution of the ESPL Power Up Valorant event ensures that the team receives huge compensation for reaching the final, increasing the stakes for all teams seeking a share of the INR 750,000 prize pool.

There are still a few days left to secure a place in the first qualifier. Registration ends on December 31, 2020. You can register your team here.

Esports Players League (ESPL) was founded in 2019 with the goal of building a sustainable, open, and integrated Esports ecosystem. ESPL is focused on creating an esports tournament and media network on a global scale with the mission of educating casual gamers to become esports champions.
